EBHA 28th Annual Congress, 26 - 28 June 2025, Brussels, Belgium

Over the course of three days, more than 150 papers were presented across 51 parallel sessions, showcasing the richness and diversity of ongoing research in our field. The three plenary events were true highlights. The Join-the-Editors session brought together editors from the leading journals in Business History. Cyrus Mody delivered a thought-provoking keynote on “What Do Businesses and Business Historians Really Know About Sustainability?”. And the Kurgan Chair in Business History Plenary Session featured Dame Wendy Hall, Tony Hey, and Yves-Alexandre de Montjoye, who shared invaluable insights on the multifaceted impact of AI across disciplines.

Thanks to the dedication of our Council member Éric Godelier, the event even received attention in the French press, with a feature article in Les Échos. It was also a point of pride for the Council to see so many participants from the latest EBHA Franco Amatori Doctoral Summer School (September 2024) present and share their work at the congress—an encouraging sign for the future of our discipline.

On behalf of the EBHA Council, a heartfelt thank-you goes to Kenneth Bertrams and his team at the Université Libre de Bruxelles for their warm and generous hospitality. And to all the attendants, for your enriching discussions, inspiring research, and shared commitment to advancing our field.

Finally, special congratulations to Valeria Giacomin and Marina Nicoli, whose paper “Dolls and Strategic Litigation in the Global Toy Industry (1950s–1960s)” received this year’s EBHA Best Paper Prize.
